Rep. Josh Gottheimer, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 5th district since 2017, addressed regional security in the Middle East, paid tribute to a former colleague, and highlighted a constituent’s extraordinary effort for Parkinson’s Awareness Month in recent social media posts.
On April 10, 2026, Gottheimer posted about the importance of international alliances amid heightened instability abroad: “As tensions in the Middle East remain high, strengthening our regional alliances is more important than ever.
I introduced bipartisan legislation to deepen cooperation between the U.S., Israel, Greece, and Cyprus — strengthening counterterrorism efforts and regional security”.
Later that day, Gottheimer expressed condolences following the passing of former Congressman Eliot Engel: “I was deeply saddened to learn that former Congressman Eliot Engel passed away. Eliot was not only a brilliant dedicated public servant and legislator, but he was also a dear friend and a true mensch.
His decades of fighting for his constituents and championing U.S. leadership”.
On April 11, 2026, Gottheimer spotlighted Larry Grogin, a resident of New Jersey’s Fifth District who is running 100 marathons in 100 days for Parkinson’s Awareness Month: “For Parkinson’s Awareness Month, New Jersey Fifth resident Larry Grogin is showing us what resilience truly looks like.

Gottheimer has served as congressman since replacing Scott Garrett in 2017. He was born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1975 and currently resides in Wyckoff. The congressman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997 and later earned a Juris Doctor from Harvard University in 2004.
