Rep. Josh Gottheimer, U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 5th district since 2017, recently shared a series of updates on his official social media account highlighting local achievements and legislative initiatives.
On February 18, 2026, Gottheimer praised a local business in Bergen County, stating, “It should be no surprise that Bergen County is the bagel capital of the world. We are showing New York how it’s done. Congratulations to Teaneck Road Hot Bagels for landing in first place! https://t.co/ITQc3xnLEQ”
Later that day, he addressed developments in technology and workforce readiness with another post: “AI is already changing how we work, and we can’t let the American worker get left behind. My bipartisan bill with @RepMikeLawler will help workers build critical AI skills, boost productivity, and strengthen our economy — all while keeping the U.S. at the front of the pack.” This statement references a bipartisan legislative effort aimed at equipping American workers with skills necessary for an evolving job market influenced by artificial intelligence.
In a third post dated February 18, 2026, Gottheimer announced progress on a major infrastructure project: “Huge win! After months of fighting to get this approved funding unfrozen, the administration has finally released millions in critical funding for the Gateway Train Tunnel. That means thousands of workers can get back on the job next week and we can move forward fixing the” The release of funds for the Gateway Train Tunnel is expected to allow thousands of workers to resume their roles in this significant transportation initiative.
Gottheimer has served as representative for New Jersey’s 5th District since defeating Scott Garrett in 2017. Born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1975 and currently residing in Wyckoff, Gottheimer holds degrees from both the University of Pennsylvania (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
