Josh Gottheimer, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 5th District since 2017, has recently shared his views on several pressing issues through social media posts. Born in Livingston, New Jersey, in 1975 and currently residing in Wyckoff, Gottheimer is an alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University.

On March 25, 2025, Gottheimer expressed concern over the persistent gender wage gap. He stated: “It’s absurd that in 2025, women only earn 75 cents for every dollar men earn. And for the first time in more than two decades, the gender wage gap widened.” He further mentioned his support for reintroducing the Paycheck Fairness Act to address this issue.

The following day, March 26, 2025, he addressed security concerns related to genetic data breaches. In a post at 11:39 AM UTC, he noted: “Last year, I called on the FBI to investigate the data breach at 23andMe to determine if it could be used by terrorists and violent extremists to target members of the Jewish community.” He expressed apprehension about the company’s bankruptcy and potential sale of genetic information.

Later that day at 4:48 PM UTC, Gottheimer commented on issues affecting Social Security services due to resource cuts. He wrote: “Elon Musk admitted DOGE will make mistakes while slashing critical resources. @SocialSecurity is being hit with website crashes, server overloads, and staffing shortages.” He emphasized his commitment to protecting seniors through his Senior Security Strategy.
