U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer, who represents New Jersey’s 5th district, posted a series of statements on April 29, 2026, highlighting recent legislative and policy developments affecting his constituents and the broader national community.
In a tweet published at 12:49 UTC, Gottheimer stated: “Proud to help claw back federal infrastructure dollars for Jersey that are bringing real results! The Gateway Train Tunnel project means faster, more reliable trains for commuters, good-paying labor jobs, and a stronger economy for Jersey and the rest of the country.”
Later that day at 16:00 UTC, he addressed student safety in athletics by posting: “Showing up to compete in high school sports should never mean risking your life. Marcus’s Law is a common-sense, life-saving step. We are talking about a simple screening that can detect hidden heart conditions before they become fatal.”
At 18:00 UTC on the same day, Gottheimer commented on state-level actions against antisemitism: “Missouri just became the latest state to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism — an important step forward in the fight against hate. I applaud Missouri and every state (39 and counting) that has adopted or endorsed the IHRA”
Josh Gottheimer has served as U.S. Representative for New Jersey’s 5th District since 2017 after succeeding Scott Garrett. Born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1975 and currently residing in Wyckoff, Gottheimer holds degrees from both the University of Pennsylvania (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
