Rep. Josh Gottheimer, who represents New Jersey’s 5th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets addressing health care policy, the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, and support for Ukrainian refugees in the United States.
On August 3, 2025, Gottheimer criticized recent policies associated with former President Donald Trump, writing: “From ripping away health care from millions of people to taking food out of the mouths of hungry children, Trump’s Big F’ed Up is a complete disaster for Jersey. What’s worse: this is only just the start. “
Later that day, on August 3, he addressed antisemitism and legislative efforts related to Israel: “The goal of the antisemitic BDS movement is the eradication of Israel, America’s critical democratic ally in the global fight against terror. I’m proud to introduce bipartisan legislation to give the Department of Education a critical new tool to combat the dangerous,”
On August 4, 2025, Gottheimer commented on U.S. policy toward Ukrainians affected by Russia’s ongoing invasion: “As Putin continues his unprovoked and brutal war against Ukraine, we must support Ukrainians who have sought refuge in the United States and are at risk of losing their legal status. I joined more than 30 of my colleagues to urge the Trump Administration to act swiftly and cut”
Josh Gottheimer has served as U.S. Representative for New Jersey’s 5th District since defeating Scott Garrett in 2017. Born in Livingston in 1975 and currently residing in Wyckoff, he holds degrees from both the University of Pennsylvania (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
