On April 30, 2025, Gottheimer tweeted: “In 2017, I proudly voted for the Women, Peace, and Security Act, a bipartisan bill signed into law by President Trump that reflects what national security leaders have long understood: our world is better off when women are at the table. Now, Pete Hegseth is going around.” This reflects his ongoing support for women’s involvement in security matters, emphasizing the importance of diverse perspectives in national security.
Later that day, Gottheimer announced his collaboration with the Equality Caucus, tweeting, “I’m joining my @EqualityCaucus colleagues in reintroducing the Equality Act to end anti-LGBTQ+ discrimination once and for all. I’m proud it includes my bipartisan legislation to ban credit discrimination based on sexual orientation.
