Rep. Josh Gottheimer, who has represented New Jersey’s 5th District in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently highlighted several key issues and events on his official Twitter account.
On May 2, 2026, Gottheimer acknowledged Jewish American Heritage Month, stating: “May is Jewish American Heritage Month! Always proud to recognize and celebrate the contributions of the Jewish community in New Jersey and across our nation, today and every day! As we celebrate this month, we must also commit as a nation to standing up to antisemitism and hate”.
The following day, May 3, he expressed appreciation for his office’s interns in Washington D.C., writing: “A huge thank you to our DC interns for all their hard work and dedication this semester! From supporting our team, to helping serve Jersey families, your efforts make a real difference every day. We’re grateful for your commitment to public service and everything you do to keep”.
Later that same day, Gottheimer addressed energy policy challenges. He tweeted: “We’ve got to fix our broken permitting system and increase energy supply to bring costs down. That takes an all of the above approach — nuclear, renewables, and natural gas. Thanks to Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative for the conversation on how we get it done!”.
Gottheimer has served as a member of Congress representing New Jersey’s 5th district since replacing Scott Garrett in 2017. Born in Livingston in 1975 and currently residing in Wyckoff at age 48, he holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
