U.S. Representative Josh Gottheimer, who serves New Jersey’s 5th district, has recently addressed several issues on his social media account, focusing on infrastructure, public health, and government operations.
On October 31, 2025, Gottheimer criticized former President Trump’s stance regarding the Gateway project. He stated: “President Trump has yet to reverse course and continues to threaten Gateway — which is critical for families to get to work and see loved ones. These are bipartisan investments I helped secure and get signed into law — there should be no delay in keeping the project on track.”
Turning attention to public health concerns on November 1, 2025, Gottheimer highlighted the issue of cardiac arrest in the United States. He wrote: “436,000 Americans die each year of cardiac arrest. This past Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month, my team met with the American Heart Association @American_Heart to continue the fight for critical legislation to promote access to AEDs & help save lives.”
Later that same day, he commented on challenges facing federal law enforcement amid government funding disputes. Gottheimer posted: “Federal law enforcement, who are critical to keeping our communities safe and protecting our national security, are seeing their operations get frozen or slowed down. We need a bipartisan agreement to reopen the government, protect families from higher health care costs, and”
Gottheimer has represented New Jersey’s 5th District since replacing Scott Garrett in 2017. Born in Livingston in 1975 and currently residing in Wyckoff at age 48, he holds degrees from both the University of Pennsylvania (BA) and Harvard University (JD).
