Rep. Josh Gottheimer, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 5th District since 2017, has recently shared his views on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1975 and currently residing in Wyckoff, Gottheimer holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from Harvard University.
On June 9, 2025, Gottheimer expressed his reaction to an antisemitic attack in Boulder. He stated: “Despite the disgusting antisemitic attack in Boulder, I’m inspired by the strength of the Jewish community coming together and continuing to demand the return of all remaining October 7 hostages.” He further emphasized that hate should have no place in America.
Later that day, he criticized President Biden’s administration for deploying National Guard troops without a governor’s request for the first time since 1965. Gottheimer tweeted: “Instead of working to bring us together, @POTUS is fueling more chaos and division.” He described this action as “blatant overreach” that could endanger lives.
On June 10, Gottheimer reminded New Jersey residents about Election Day. In his tweet, he encouraged voters to participate: “New Jersey, it’s Election Day! Make sure you have a plan to #vote!” He provided additional information about polling hours.
Gottheimer has been serving in Congress since replacing Scott Garrett in 2017.
