Rep. Josh Gottheimer, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 5th district since 2017, has been active in promoting legislative initiatives and regional developments through his social media posts. He recently shared updates on efforts to support childcare centers, enhance air travel connections, and provide financial relief for families.

On February 4, 2025, Rep. Gottheimer highlighted a legislative proposal aimed at supporting entrepreneurship and reducing childcare costs. “My bill also creates a tax credit for start-up childcare centers to lower childcare costs & boost entrepreneurship for small business owners.”

The following day, on February 5, he expressed satisfaction with United Airlines’ decision to resume non-stop flights from Newark Airport to Tel Aviv after persistent advocacy efforts. “I’m glad to see that @united is resuming non-stop flights to Tel Aviv from @EWRairport, which I have been urging them to do for months.” This development reconnects New Jersey residents with their families and friends in Israel.

Later that day, Gottheimer detailed the benefits of his proposed LITTLE Act designed to alleviate significant financial burdens faced by New Jersey families regarding childcare expenses. “My LITTLE Act will help Jersey families afford one of their biggest expenses: Increase the Child & Dependent Care Tax Credit to $7.5K for one child & $15K for 2 or more.” The act aims not only to increase tax credits but also lower overall childcare costs and reduce barriers for opening new childcare facilities.
